Steel Buildings in Tiffin, Iowa

Metal Building Outlet delivered this pair of prefabricated steel buildings in Tiffin, Iowa, in late August of 2022.

Now part of the infrastructure of a dog-boarding business, the first building, which functions as an office, is 70’x125’x25’/19’2”, while the second metal building, which serves as a kennel, is 40’x50’x16’/12’8”. Both insulated, climate-controlled commercial buildings are comprised of hardwearing, sustainable steel parts, and both have heavy-duty steel roofs with modest 1:12 pitches overhead.

Painted exteriors and 4’ of color-changing wainscot boost the buildings’ curb appeal, and between them, they feature (4) 3070 framed door openings enclosing (4) 3070 commercial insulated walk doors with lever locks. Both dog-boarding buildings also have gutters and downspouts along their roofs’ low sides, helping prevent condensation and water damage.

High-performance insulation packages keep the buildings comfortable and well-suited for housing animals and employees year-round. In the roofs of the buildings are R-30 Energy Saver insulation systems, while the walls of the office and kennel buildings contain R-25 Energy Saver insulation systems.

Both structures also have 25-psf roof snow loads and 115-mph wind speed ratings in line with local building code requirements.
