Prefabricated Steel Personal Shop Building in Virgina City Highlands, NV

A homeowner in Virginia City Highlands, in Nevada’s unincorporated Storey County, needed to add personal shop space to his property and ordered this pre-engineered steel shop through Metal Building Outlet in February 2025.

The 1,500-square-foot shop combines durability, versatility and comfort, with a roof insulation package keeping temperatures consistent and heating and cooling bills manageable throughout the year. The package includes a high R-value, double-layer insulation system for the roof and another R-13 fiberglass insulation system for the walls, with VRR+ facing lining the blankets on the interior-facing side and color-coated tape tabs sealing the blankets tightly together.

Engineered with a 5-lb. collateral load to support the future addition of solar panels, this building is also designed to eventually accommodate plywood and other upgrades the owner may want as needs evolve. Easy to erect, clean and maintain, this steel personal shop is an adaptable, multifunctional and flexible addition to the property.
