Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal workshop building for a customer in Peyton, Colorado, in May of 2019.

Offering the rugged durability life in Colorado demands, this building is comprised of heavy-duty steel components and now serves as a shop. It stands 30’x40’x14’ in size once erect and features an unobstructed, clear-span design that maximizes storage and work space.

Its exterior is Desert Sand in color, and it complements the shop’s corrosion-resistant, Charcoal Grey roof that has a 3:12 pitch. Other key features and customizations include (5) framed openings, among them (1) 10’x12’ opening, (2) 3’4”x7’2” openings and (2) 3’x6’8” openings. Because Peyton and the surrounding area often see extremely heavy wintertime snowfall, there are stringent building codes in place throughout the region, and this steel shop also features a 130-mph wind speed rating and a high, 57-pound snow load to comply with them.

Part of Colorado’s El Paso County, Peyton is home to just a few hundred residents. The community sits roughly 50 miles from Limon and about 25 miles northeast of Colorado Springs.
