Prefabricated Steel Personal Shop in Diagonal, Iowa

Metal Building Outlet sent the pre-engineered metal building kit for this spacious personal shop building to Diagonal, Iowa, in late February of 2025.

Heavily insulated to maximize comfort and custom-designed in line with the owner’s needs, the steel shop offers 7,000 square feet of unobstructed interior space great for fabricating goods, working on cars or trucks, storing large machinery and equipment or any number of other uses. An R-32 insulation double-layer insulation system in the roof and an R-25 insulation system in the walls create a comfortable, energy-efficient environment. A clear poly vapor barrier protects the blankets from moisture and damage, helping prevent the growth of mold or mildew.

Both of the metal shop’s side walls have gutters and downspouts that control moisture even more by diverting it away from the building’s outside walls and foundation. There are also windows in various sizes distributed throughout the structure, keeping the interior bright and welcoming.
