Prefabricated Steel Agricultural Building & Lean-Tos in Monument, Colorado
Metal Building Outlet sent the pre-engineered metal building kits for these three cold-formed steel agricultural buildings to Monument, Colorado, in February 2025.
Fused together to create one large, spacious structure, the project includes kits for one primary farm building and two attached metal -lean-tos that flank either side. The main metal building boasts 1,008 square feet of open interior space on the ground floor plus another 1,0008 square feet of space on an upstairs mezzanine, while each of the steel lean-tos provides an additional 936 square feet of space the owners can use as they see fit.
Functional on the inside and fashionable on the outside, the building comprised of three smaller structures has Charcoal Gray exterior paint, a Black roof and Charcoal gray architectural trim, resulting in a sleek and modern appearance. The owners also had the option of adding R-30 fiberglass insulation in the roof and R-13 insulation in the walls, which would lower energy bills, enhance interior comfort and help guard against condensation, among other notable benefits.
Great for storing agricultural equipment, growing plants or housing livestock, among other common applications, prefabricated steel agricultural buildings offer superior protection for animals, flowers, produce or machinery. The cold-formed construction method used for this particular farm building also resulted in a lighter, easier-to-manage building frame, leading to a faster assembly process and less work for erectors.
