Energy-Efficient Prefabricated Metal Shop in Florissant, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet supplied this custom metal shop building for a resident of Florissant, Colorado, sending the building kit for erection in April 2024.

Designed for maximum energy efficiency and Florissant’s often-heavy winter snowfall, the steel shop building includes a high-performance, high R-value insulation package, with an R-38 multilayer Energy Saver insulation system supplied for the roof and an R-25 single-layer insulation system supplied for the walls. The insulation package keeps internal temperatures steady and comfortable, making the structure ideal for housing temperature-sensitive items, and it also serves as an extra layer of defense against condensation and water damage.

The client wanted a spacious, well-lit space to use for work, storage, hobbies and more, and this building checks these boxes thanks to the addition of two large windows and 1,600 square feet of flexible, unobstructed interior space. The shop building also boasts Ash Gray walls, Burnished Slate trim, a matching roof with a 6:12 pitch that allows snow to slide off easily and gutters and downspouts that divert moisture away from its outside walls and foundation.

In addition to the building components for this shop, Metal Building Outlet also delivered stamped foundation plans to the buyer’s jobsite, helping streamline the process of pouring the foundation while enhancing the structure’s overall stability.
