Custom Prefabricated Metal Shop Building in Louisville, Tennessee

Metal Building Outlet sent the kit for this custom prefabricated metal shop building to Louisville, Tennessee, in February 2024, giving the property owner a safe, secure place to work, enjoy hobbies or store vehicles and other valuables.

Metal Building Outlet worked closely with the client to create a building that would accommodate all of his needs, and the end result if this rugged, reliable steel shop building featuring an expansive 1,600 square feet of column-free interior space. Durable and energy efficient, the building has an insulated roof and walls, with 6” of VRR+-faced R-19 insulation lining the roof and another 4” of VRR+-faced R-13 insulation adorning the walls.

While the insulation package regulates internal temperatures, keeping them ideal for vehicle and other types of storage, it also leads to lower heating and cooling bills and improved noise control. The metal shop building also features 3’-wide translucent panels in the roof, which allow natural light and warmth inside, reducing the owner’s reliance on heating systems during colder months.

The building also features overhangs on all four sides, with 2’ overhangs on the back and sides and a 1’ overhang on the front. This design feature helps protect the shop’s outside walls from moisture while adding visual interest to the structure. Other customizations that improve aesthetics and functionality include sculptured gutters and downspouts, which divert rain and the area’s occasional snowfall away from the walls and foundation, and 20” of stone façade wainscoting that surround the building’s exterior.
