Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal building in Portsmouth, Rhode Island in February of 2022.

Highly customized and heavily insulated to maximize energy efficiency, the building boasts unmatched structural integrity and is 60’x100’x16’ when raised. In use as a shop, the metal building has high ceilings and a broad clear span, and overhead, it has a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Ash Gray-colored gable roof with a 3:12 pitch offering protection from the elements.

The metal shop has (5) framed door openings providing access inside. There is also 4’ of wainscoting along all walls, boosting the building’s curb appeal. Installed in the roof and walls of the steel shop are 6” of R-19 insulation with heavy-duty WMP-VRR-Plus facing attached to the interior-facing side, with the facing acting as a protective cover over the blankets.

Additional customizations include (1) gutter and (2) downspouts along the shop’s the front side wall and several climate-related customizations that keep the building compliant with local building codes, including a 110-mph wind speed rating and a 30-psf roof snow load.

Located in eastern Rhode Island, the town of Portsmouth is part of Newport County. It sits about 28 miles from Providence and about a 38-mile drive from Warwick.
