Insulated Prefabricated Steel Shop Building in Lyman, Wyoming

Metal Building Outlet sourced this prefabricated steel shop for a client in Lyman, Wyoming, in mid-June of 2025. It was one of several buildings supplied for the same client, enabling him to take advantage of Metal Building Outlet’s multi-building discount.

Durable, low maintenance and climate-controlled, the shop gives the owner 3,200 square feet of unobstructed square feet usable for storage, woodworking, metal fabrication, automotive maintenance or any number of similar efforts. An insulation package ensures ideal thermal performance and makes the building comfortable for use year-round, with 6” of R-19 fiberglass insulation lining the roof and another 4” of R-13 fiberglass insulation lining the walls. The single-layer insulation blankets have VR-R facing on the inward-facing side, which acts as a protective cover and guards against moisture and damage. They also feature 6” seal tabs, which create continuous insulation systems by preventing air leaks.

The shop features a combination of overhead doors and traditional walk doors, allowing for easy access and retrieval of items when necessary. It also features wind and snow loads that comply with local building codes and the 2024 International Building Code, maximizing durability.
