A client in Fort Lupton, Colorado, bought this custom steel shop building through Metal Building Outlet in August 2023.
Featuring upgraded red iron framing and engineering, the insulated, energy-efficient steel building combines the strength and stability of steel construction with the the look of a traditional barn thanks to Regal White exterior walls and Bright Red architectural trim. A wide clear span creates an open interior floorplan, and doors in a variety of sizes boost the building’s versatility.
The metal shop has custom features throughout, among them a high R-value, R-29 roof insulation system and an R-19 insulation system with VRR+ in the walls. The insulation helps keep condensation at bay and heating and cooling bills low throughout the year, and an 8’ perimeter liner panel helps protect the insulation blankets from damage while enhancing the interior appeal of the building.
The building also features custom gutters and downspouts along the roof, which help with drainage while diverting rain and snow away from the shop’s outside walls.
