Wind-Rated, Climate-Controlled Steel Shop Building in Mims, Florida
Metal Building Outlet sent the kit for this prefabricated steel shop building to Mims, Florida, in November 2024.
Engineered for its location in a high-risk hurricane zone, the building offers maximum durability and 4,800 square feet of unobstructed floor space. A high wind rating helps it stand strong in the face of gusty or even hurricane-force winds, while an insulation package guards against condensation and corrosion, which is essential given Mims’ humid climate.
Supplied for the roof is a high R-value, R-35 Energy Saver insulation system, while the walls get an R-13 single-layer insulation system with WMP-VRR+ facing. The facing gives the inside of the shop a clean, complete look, and it also acts as an additional moisture barrier, preventing the fiberglass blankets from getting wet.
Multiple doors in different sizes make everything inside easily accessible, putting the finishing touches on a practical, spacious and economical addition to the property.
