Metal Building Outlet provided this premanufactured steel building for a customer in Chinook, Montana. Rugged, functional and efficient, the building stands strong in the face of Montana’s long, unforgiving winters, and it now serves as a shop.

Boasting a cool roof and energy-efficient, cost-effective R-13 insulation in the roof and walls, the durable, low-maintenance building is now used as a shop. Crafted from premium components from Garco Building Systems, the building stands 21’x24’x16’ and has a 4:12 roof pitch. Inside are (2) framed openings; one 12’x10’ in size and the other housing a 3070 walk door.
Given Montana’s variable climate, the metal shop building is engineered with a wind speed of 115 mph and a snow load of 40 lbs.

Located in the foothills of the rugged and scenic Beartooth Mountains, this pre-engineered metal building undergoes use as a shop, and it offers the strength and durability mountain life demands. It stands 40’x60’x16’ in size and has a wide clear span that maximizes floor space, and it also features high overhead clearance, making for a particularly versatile and spacious environment.
Protecting the interior of the steel shop is a long-lasting, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 2:12 pitch, and (3) framed openings serve as additional shop features. The building has (1) 3070 walk door that offers easy access for shop users, while (2) 12’x14’ overhead door openings provide entry space for vehicles, farm machinery or other oversize equipment.
Because of the sometimes-extreme weather that comes through the area in and around Fishtail, the pre-engineered steel shop also has a 115-mph wind rating and a high, 74-pound snow load. Offering unmatched structural integrity, the building stands 50’x100’x16’ in size upon erection, and its owner currently uses it as a shop. Spacious and versatile, it features a wide, clear-span design that eliminates interior supports and obstructions, and its high ceilings enhance its overall functionality even further.
The exterior of the steel shop is a bold Crimson Red color, while its roof is comprised of exceedingly durable and corrosion-resistant Galvalume Plus metal panels and has a 1:12 pitch. Other customizations and special features include (6) framed openings, among them (1) 14’x14’ opening enclosing (1) 14’x14’ overhead door, (2) 12’x12’ openings, each enclosing one of (2) 12’xq12’ overhead doors, (1) 3070 walk door opening and (2) 4060 window openings that allow natural sunlight inside the space.
A high, 54-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating further equip the steel shop for life in northeastern Montana while keeping the structure in compliance with building code requirements. Home to Whitefish Mountain Resort, the city of Whitefish falls within the borders of Flathead County. The area sits west of the Continental Divide, about 17 miles north of Kalispell and about 15 miles north of Evergreen, Montana.
