Prefabricated Metal Gymnasium Building in Topeka, Kansas

Metal Building Outlet supplied the building kit for this prefabricated steel gymnasium in Topeka, Kansas, sending the structural components to the northeastern Kansas community in February 2025.

Custom-designed and engineered to last, the metal gym spans 11,760 square feet and provides plenty of space for athletic equipment, weights, changing rooms, showers and administrative areas. It features an upgraded standing-seam roof, rather than a traditional screw-down version, and a high-performance insulation package that keeps interior temperatures comfortable while lowering heating and cooling bills.

Installed in the roof is an R-35 multi-layer Energy Saver insulation system covered by White liner fabric, while the walls of the steel gym hold a single layer of R-25 fiberglass insulation held in place by InsulHold coils, thermal tape, screws and steel banding.

Other noteworthy customizations include 11 windows and six door openings in several sizes, with some of the doors featuring insulation to further enhance energy efficiency. Spacious, low-maintenance and designed to accommodate heavy use and foot traffic, this prefabricated metal gym gives Kansas residents a safe, all-season space to lift weights, practice cardio and otherwise stay in shape throughout the year.
