Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Light stone in color with an eye-catching green roof and a 1:12 roof pitch, the Michigan metal building stands 30’x40’x16’, and is used as a storage area by FDM Contracting, Inc., a Shelby Township-based general contracting company. Constructed using Nucor Building Systems components, the building has (1) framed opening, which is 14’x14’ in size.

Shelby Township experiences considerable annual snowfall that trumps national averages, and with the area’s typical climate and weather patterns in mind, the steel building was constructed with a wind speed of 90 mph and a snow load of 18 lbs.

Located within Oceana County in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, Shelby Township lies about 25 miles from Southfield and 17 miles outside Pontiac.

Metal Hay Storage Building in Fallon, Nevada

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal agricultural building in Fallon, Nevada, in January, 2020.

Used for hay storage, the sustainable, watertight steel building stands 24’x40’x20’ once raised and has a broad clear span that maximizes usable storage space for hay. Constructed using rugged, reliable steel components, the building offers unmatched structural integrity, and it has a robust and corrosion-resistant Galvalume steel roof with a modest 1:12 pitch offering protection from overhead.

To comply with applicable building code requirements and enhance durability with respect for the climate of the Fallon area, the steel hay storage building also boasts a 5-psf snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating. Primarily an agricultural community, the city of Fallon is a part of Nevada’s Churchill County. It sits about 63 miles east of Reno, Nevada, and about 62 miles northeast of Carson City, Nevada’s capital.

RV Storage Building in Madison, Illinois

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal building for a customer in Madison, Illinois, in late August of 2015.

Now used as an RV storage area, this metal building is koko brown in color. It stands 40’x126’x16’ in order to accommodate RVs of varying sizes, and it houses (9) separate 14’x40’ units. Covering the DCBI-brand building is a rugged, durable Galvalume metal roof with a 0.5:12 roof pitch, and the building contains (9) framed openings, all 12’x14’ in size. Included in each of the openings is one of (9) 12’x14’ roll-up doors.

To help the building maintain comfortable interior temperatures and minimize its energy expenditures, R-10 insulation was installed in both the building’s roof and walls during construction. With the Madison area’s typical climate and weather patterns, the building also boasts a wind speed of 115 mph and a snow load of 43 lbs.

With land in both Madison and St. Clair Counties, the city of Madison, Illinois, is located in western Illinois. It sits about 18 miles outside Florissant, Missouri, and about 16 miles from Edwardsville, Illinois.

Metal Building in Milford, Indiana

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal building in Milford, Indiana.

The steel structure is a Nucor brand building and was recently ordered to be used for hay storage on a family farm. The structure was relatively large with dimensions of 80’x160’x22′ and a roof pitch of 3:12.

Milford is located approximately 41 miles away from the city of South Bend and 12 miles away from the town of Warsaw. Given the typical climate conditions in the area it was necessary to account for wind and snow to ensure structural integrity.  The structure was rated to withstand 90mph wind loads and a snow load of 30psf.  Since the white structure would be used to store hay insulation was not necessary.

Ideal for storage, manufacturing or industrial purposes, to name a few possible uses, the building delivers unmatched durability, and it has a corrosion-resistant roof comprised of Galvalume steel sheeting sitting overhead, offering a 3:12 pitch.

In its roof, it has a layer of R-10 insulation, which enhances energy efficiency, resulting in lower energy bills and a more comfortable year-round environment. The steel building also features (4) framed openings that make it easily accessible, among them (1) 3070 walk door opening housing (1) 3070 walk door and (3) 10’x10’ framed openings, each enclosing one of (3) 10’x10’ overhead doors.

Other notable attributes include a 30-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating, which keep the metal building compliant with applicable building codes while enhancing durability with regard for its location. Known for its tobacco and agricultural industries, the town of Keysville is part of south-central Virginia’s Charlotte County. It sits about 20 miles south of Farmville and about the same distance from Burkeville.
