Insulated Metal Building in Fairplay, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet supplied this insulated metal building in Fairplay, Colorado, in late September of 2016.

Striking and energy efficient, the building is crafted from premium-grade steel materials and is now used as a shop. Fox gray in color, it stands 40’x100’x14’ in size and is covered overhead by a complementing fern green roof with a 2:12 pitch. Distributed throughout the building are (16) framed openings varying in size, among them (2) 10’x12’ openings, (1) 12’x12’ opening, (9) 4’x3’ openings, (2’x3’ opening, and finally, (3) 3070 openings intended for walk doors.

The metal shop building also features an insulation package to help minimize energy expenditures given Fairplay’s mountainous location and long, sometimes bitterly cold winters. Installed in the roof of the structure is high-performance, R30 insulation, while R-19 insulation can be found within the walls. The building also boasts a wind speed of 115 mph and a very high snow load of 65 lbs. in consideration of the climate and weather patterns characteristic of the area. A town set within central Colorado’s Park County, Fairplay lies about 38 miles outside Buena Vista and about 16 miles from Jefferson.
