Metal Shop Building in Hesperus, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet was the supplier of this prefabricated metal shop building in Hesperus, Colorado in October of 2021.

Energy-efficient and structurally sound, the metal building now serves as a shop and features high-end steel construction. When erect, the steel building is 40’x100’x19’ in size, offering high ceilings and a broad clear span that enhance versatility.

Dark Tan in color with Light Tan trim and a complementing White gable roof with a 3:12 pitch, the building provides reliable protection from the Colorado elements and serves as a comfortable, safe place to work, service vehicles or otherwise utilize. The steel shop has (5) framed openings throughout, which include (1) 3070 opening enclosing (1) insulated, 20-gauge Bronze commercial 3070 walk door with a lever lock, (3) 12’x12’ overhead door openings holding (3) Amarr 2432 overhead sectional doors with electric openers and chain hoists, and (1) 18’x15’ overhead door opening containing (1) Sandstone-colored Amarr 2342 overhead sectional door with a chain hoist.

A high-performance insulation package is another key feature, keeping energy bills low and shop users comfortable regardless of outside temperatures. The steel shop has 6” of R-19 insulation in its roof and 4” of R-13 insulation in its walls. Both the roof and wall insulation have WMP-VRR facing adhered to the interior side, which serves as a protective cover over the insulation blankets.

A 115-mph wind speed rating and a high, 97-psf roof snow load are additional accommodations made with respect for the building code requirements in place at the build site.
