Prefabricated Steel Welding Shop Building in Fort Lupton, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet sourced this custom metal welding shop for a client in Fort Lupton, Colorado, in January 2025.

Featuring high ceilings, the infrastructure needed to accommodate two large cranes and an open, clear-span design, the steel welding shop offers 25,000 square feet of climate-controlled space well-suited for welding, fabrication and equipment storage. Customized inside and out to accommodate welding needs, the building features Ash Gray walls and Charcoal-colored architectural trim and wainscoting that add to its street appeal. It also has 14 windows in a variety of sizes letting in natural sunlight, which reduces the welding business’s reliance on artificial lighting during the wintertime.

Keeping interior temperatures comfortable and energy expenses low is a high-performance, high R-value fiberglass insulation system. Installed in the welding shop’s walls is an R-25 Energy Saver insulation system, while the roof has an R-35 Energy Saver insulation system.

The shop also has a White liner panel covering the interior walls, which serves several key purposes. It helps protect the wall insulation from rips, condensation and damage, for starters, and it also gives the inside of the building a clean, finished look and feel.

Beyond the pre-engineered metal building kit for this project, Metal Building Outlet also delivered a Colorado engineer-stamped foundation plan to give the structure a strong, stable foundation.
