Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered metal shop building for a business owner in Cortez, Colorado, in November 2021.

Insulated and highly customized to meet the owner’s needs and wants, the building now functions as an auto body shop. It has high ceilings and a broad clear span that leave plenty of space for working on or storing vehicles, and its roof and wall insulation keep interior temperatures comfortable throughout the year while keeping the business’s energy bills low. In the roof, the metal shop building has 4 ¼” of R-13 insulation, while the walls contain 3 ½” of R-11 insulation with PSP VRR+ facing on the inward-facing side.

The auto shop features portal frames, rather than X-bracing, along its high side wall, and the interior walls have 7.75’ White metal liner panels, which give the building’s interior a complete, finished appearance while helping protect the wall insulation.
