Personal Shop Building Built for Coastal Weather in Port Orange, Florida
Metal Building Outlet supplied the building kit for this pre-engineered metal personal shop in Port Orange, Florida, sending the structural components to the northeastern Florida community in late March of 2025.
Custom-designed inside and out, the metal shop covers 5,000 square feet and features an open, clear-span design that maximizes space by eliminating interior obstructions. Equal parts fashionable and functional, the personal shop has a 5’ roof purlin extension that creates a canopy with covered space underneath and 3’ of painted wainscoting surrounding the exterior.
An upgraded Battenlok roof provides superior leak resistance, which is vital given that the Port Orange area typically sees about 50” of rain each year. The shop also features a high, 160-mph wind speed rating due to the area’s frequent storms and occasional hurricane activity. Durable, versatile and carefully designed for the climate characteristics of the region, this prefabricated personal shop building is a safe, secure place to store belongings, complete projects or otherwise utilize, regardless of time of year.
