Prefabricated Metal Barn in Franktown, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet sent the building kit for this pre-engineered steel barn to a client in Franktown, Colorado, in late February 2024.

Purchased at a discount during Denver’s National Western Stock Show and custom-designed in line with the buyer’s needs and wants, the metal barn has 3,000 square feet of column-free interior space on the main floor and another 500 square feet of usable floor space in a second-story mezzanine. The outside of the building boasts a traditional barn aesthetic and has 4’ of wainscoting with transition trim along two sides. There are also gutters and downspouts lining the roof, diverting moisture away from the walls and foundation, and a 2’ overhang along one end wall, creating additional room for dry storage or other use.

The steel barn has four 4030 windows letting natural sunlight stream inside, and multiple door openings allow for convenient entry and easy retrieval of livestock, feed, farm equipment or other goods. The prefabricated barn also has high wind and snow load ratings to boost durability and adhere to local building codes.
