A client in Hesperus, Colorado needed a secure, energy-efficient space to store goods, complete projects and otherwise use as he sees fit and tasked Metal Building Outlet with designing and supplying this insulated steel shop building.

Metal Building Outlet worked closely with the client to create this metal building kit and delivered it to his jobsite in April 2024. Offering 1,890 square feet of unobstructed interior space, the metal shop building combines good looks with practical features, giving the owner a safe, reliable space to use during all four seasons in Colorado.

Surfsand walls, a matching roof and Colony Green architectural trim give the metal shop nice curb appeal while blending well with the surrounding natural landscape, and 1’ overhangs on all four walls protect the walls from moisture while creating covered outdoor space for storage or other use. The roof and walls of the steel shop hold 6” of R-19 and 4” of R-13 VRR+-faced insulation, respectively, boosting the building’s thermal performance by keeping heated or cooled air inside, depending on the season.

Most of the building’s doors are also insulated, enhancing the shop’s energy efficiency even more while offering convenient access for the owner and his crew.
