Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered commercial steel building in Pueblo West, Colorado, in September of 2018.
Engineered for use as Bumperz Entertainment Center, a new, full-scale fun center featuring a restaurant, bowling alley, putt-putt course, golf simulator and giant darts, among other draws, the massive, highly customized commercial steel building spans 12,000 square feet and caters to families and young adults alike.
Budget was the number-one driver for this particular project, and the building owners considered feasibility and recognized they could do far more with such a large building when it was comprised of steel, rather than wood or brick. Metal Building Outlet worked in close conjunction with the building and business owners to realize their vision and identify numerous opportunities to save along the way.
Fun Center Features & Specs
Durable, expansive and highly customized, the steel entertainment center stands 80’x150’15’ in size, offering high ceilings and a wide clear span that maximize space for games, bowling lanes, restaurant space and more. Boasting a modern, painted exterior, wainscoting and an updated architectural trim package, the insulated entertainment center offers ample curb appeal and has a painted gable roof with a modest 2:12 roof pitch providing protection overhead.
Distributed throughout the steel entertainment center are (19) framed door and window openings in a variety of sizes. There are (3) 8’x10’ door openings, (2) 16’x10’ door openings, and (5) 3070 openings enclosing (5) 3070 insulated 20-gauge insulated commercial walk doors with panic hardware and commercial closures.
Also included are (1) 15’x13’ door opening, (1) 16’x13’ door opening, (2) 6070 framed door openings housing (2) 6070 insulated 20-gauge insulated commercial walk doors with panic hardware and commercial closures, (3) 10’x8’ window openings and (2) 3’x4’ window openings.
A High-Performance Insulation System
The Bumperz steel building also features an upgraded, high-performance insulation package that makes it suitable for use year-round in Colorado. In the roof is a high R-value, R-30 double-banded insulation system with Black WMP-VR Facing, while the walls of the metal entertainment center contain an R-19 single-layer insulation system.
With the insulation in place, the business owners see lower heating and cooling bills, with the energy savings expected to recoup the cost of the entire insulation system within about 10 years. The insulation system also protects the building against condensation and keeps interior temperatures comfortable and consistent for guests and employees.
