Cold-Formed Pre-Engineered Steel Sunroom in Milledgeville, Georgia
Metal Building Outlet was proud to supply this cold-formed prefabricated steel sunroom for a home in Milledgeville, Georgia, sending the building components to the residence in February 2025.
Carefully designed to meet the owner’s aesthetic preferences and engineered to accommodate local building codes, the bright, inviting steel sunroom boasts 650 square feet of open interior space residents can use for dining, relaxing and entertaining. A smart, practical way to expand the property’s usable living space, the sunroom adds value to the home and features an insulation package, making it usable during all four seasons.
The roof of the metal sunroom features a layer of R-24 fiberglass insulation, while the walls hold an additional layer of R-13 insulation. The fiberglass blankets have vinyl VRR facing applied to one side, helping protect the blankets from moisture and damage while improving overall aesthetics.
Designed to maximize sunlight, the building has Black exterior paint with matching trim that absorbs heat and light and several large windows, including a 96”x141” panel and two 36”x72” windows.
The client opted for cold-formed steel construction for this sunroom addition, which combines superior strength with a lightweight design, simplifying the erection process. Cold-formed steel buildings are also exceedingly durable and resistant to fire and pests, making it an increasingly popular choice for steel construction.
