Sagebrush tan in color with a matching metal roof, the building is crafted from premium-grade steel components and now serves as a garage for the owner. Overhead, covering and protecting the structure, is a hardwearing roof with a 3:12 roof pitch, and inside the building are (2) framed openings; (1) 10’x9’ opening and (1) 3’x7’ opening enclosing (1) 3’x7’ steel walk door. In consideration of the variable climate and weather patterns characteristic of the Hartford area, the metal building also features a wind speed of 115 mph and a snow load of 30 lbs.

Now a batting cage for the students of Jefferson Forrest High School, the energy efficient and low-maintenance metal building is crafted from top-quality steel, and it stands 40’x80’x15’ in size. Protecting it overhead is a rugged and hardwearing Galvalume metal roof with a 4:12 roof pitch, and inside the batting cage are (4) framed openings. These include (1) 10’x10’ opening housing (1) 10’x10’ overhead door and (3) 3070 doorframes housing (3) 3070 commercial walk doors.

To reduce energy costs and keep the interior of the building comfortable regardless of season, an insulation package is included in this project. Installed in the roof is R-19 metal building insulation, while R-13 insulation can be found in the walls. The cage also features a snow load of 25 lbs. and a wind speed of 115 mph, decisions that were made to enhance durability with respect for the weather and climate patterns typical of the Forrest area.

A census-designated place set within central Virginia’s Bedford County, Forrest is located about 29 miles outside Montvale and about 12 miles from Lynchburg.

Installed in both the roof and walls is R-13 metal building insulation, which not only helps to reduce energy costs, but also helps muffle outside noise while improving interior comfort year-round. The shop building also features a wind speed of 120 mph and a snow load of 60 lbs., inclusions that were made given Vermont’s typical weather patterns.
