Steel Building in Des Allemands, Louisiana

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building in Des Allemands, Louisiana.

Now used as a shop by Otto Candies, a leading longtime innovator in vessel design, the metal building stands 40’x55’x16’ and is covered overhead by a durable, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch. It is crafted from premium components from Garco Building Systems, and contains (7) framed openings of varying sizes. These include (2) 12’x12’ openings, (1) 3070 walk door and (4) 3’x10’ skylights to maximize natural sunlight inside.

Because of Des Allemands’ location near the ocean and its propensity for strong storm and occasional hurricane activity, the shop building was constructed with a very high wind speed rating of 150 mph. A part of both Lafourche and St. Charles parishes in southeastern Louisiana, Des Allemands lies about 34 miles outside New Orleans and 22 miles from Kenner.

Distributed throughout the metal workshop are (3) 12’x14’ framed openings, each equipped with one of (3) heavy-duty metal walk doors, and a rugged, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof protects the interior of the workshop from above. A five-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating serve as additional attributes included in consideration of the climate and weather patterns common across Robeline and throughout the surrounding region.
