Featuring light stone paint and R-4” WMP-VR facing material in the roof to create an air and vapor barrier, the durable, low-maintenance building is now used as a shop area by the buyer. Constructed using top-quality components from Nucor Building Systems, the finished building stands 40’x60’x14’ in size and is covered by a Galvalume roof with a 2:12 pitch.

Also featured are (2) framed openings, (1) of which holds a 3070 walk door, and the other, a 12’x12’ insulated overhead door. In consideration of the Topeka area’s highly variable climate conditions and occasionally strong thunderstorm activity, a wind speed of 115 mph and a ground snow load of 14 lbs. were included at the time of construction.

The (2) buildings contain R-13 insulation within their roofs and walls, a decision made to lower energy bills associated with the shop while helping users maintain year-round comfort. A wind speed rating of 115 mph and a snow load of 25 pounds serve as additional accommodations added with respect for the climate of Osborne and the surrounding region. The shop also has high R-value, R-38 insulation installed within its roof, while R-8 insulation sits within the walls. A 20-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating serve as additional customizations made in compliance with local building codes and in consideration of the climate characteristics of the area.
