Metal Building in Castaic, California

Metal Building Outlet provided this pre-engineered steel building for a customer in Castaic, California in March of 2021.

Insulated and highly customized in line with the owner’s needs, the steel building offers unmatched strength and durability and is 40’x45’x16’ in size. Overhead, the building, which serves as a shop, features a durable, corrosion-resistant gable roof with a 2.55:12 pitch, and distributed throughout are (5) framed door and window openings in a variety of sizes.

Found throughout the metal shop building are (2) 12’x14’ overhead door openings, one of which holds (1) 12’x14’ Amarr Series 2412 overhead door with a chain hoist and one of which holds (1) 12’x14’ Amarr Series 2412 overhead door with a manual lift. There is also (1) 8’x8’ overhead door opening enclosing (1) 8’x8’ Amarr Series 2412 overhead door with a manual lift and (1) 3070 opening holding (1) 3070 20-gauge insulated steel walk door with a lever lock. Also included is (1) 4’x4’ window opening.

A high-performance insulation package maximizes energy efficiency and keeps the building’s interior comfortable, regardless of the temperature outside. The roof contains 6” of R-19 insulation, while the walls hold 4” of R-13 insulation. The insulation has heavy-duty WMP-VRR facing adhered to one side, which protects the insulation blankets against condensation and water damage.

The metal workshop also boasts a 115-mph wind speed rating in accordance with local building codes.
