Steel Building in Bakersfield, California

Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel building in Bakersfield, California, in June of 2019.

Now in use as a shop, the durable and energy-efficient steel building stands 30’x50’x14’ in size once raised, and it features an unobstructed clear-span design. Its roof has a 1:12 pitch and is comprised of corrosion-resistant Galvalume steel panels, resulting in reliable protection for goods kept inside.

Throughout the spacious steel shop are (5) framed openings that enhance accessibility, among them (3) 12’x12’ overhead openings and (2) 3070 walk door openings enclosing (2) 3070 walk doors. A layer of high R-value, R-30 fiberglass insulation in the shop’s roof serves as another key feature, and it helps keep energy bills low while improving interior comfort for shop users.

A 110-mph wind speed rating is another customization made in adherence to local building codes and out of consideration for the climate characteristics typical of Bakersfield. Located near the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, the city of Bakersfield is a part of Kern County. The community sits about 275 miles southeast of Sacramento and about 110 miles north of Los Angeles.
