Prefabricated Cold-Formed Steel Shop Building in Denver, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet supplied the building kit for this cold-formed pre-engineered steel shop building for a client in Denver, Colorado, sending the structural components to the jobsite in early June 2025.

Spacious, modern and highly energy efficient, the cold-formed metal building offers 3,500 square feet of interior space ideal for housing goods, performing tasks, completing projects or working on cars and trucks, among other potential uses. High ceilings enhance overall functionality, while an R-30 Energy Saver insulation system in the roof and an R-35 Energy Saver insulation system in the walls create a comfortable interior and boost the metal shop’s thermal performance, leading to lower heating and cooling bills over the life of the building.

Other customizations include a 4-psf collateral load in the roof that can support sprinklers, HVAC or lighting systems, or other elements the owner needs permanently affixed to the ceiling. This particular shop building is among a growing number to feature cold-formed steel construction, a sustainable, economical alternative to traditional steel construction. Lighter and easier to handle than standard steel parts, cold-formed structural components also offer easy design flexibility, making them an increasingly popular choice among today’s home and business owners.
