Metal Building in Brownsville, Texas

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated metal building for a customer in Brownsville, Texas, in February of 2016.

Light stone in color with burnished slate trim, the building, now used as a shop, stands 5’x200’x18’ when fully erect. Overhead is a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 1:12 roof pitch, and inside the metal shop building are (12) framed openings; (8) 12’x16’ openings and (4) that enclose 3070 walk doors. Designed with energy efficiency in mind, the building boasts R-19 insulation in the roof and R-13 insulation in its walls. In addition to drastically slashing energy costs, the insulation serves as a sound barrier and enhances interior comfort year-round for building users.

Additional features include a high wind speed of 150 mph and a snow load of 20 lbs. These inclusions were made to enhance durability with respect to the climate and weather patterns common throughout the Brownsville area.

A part of Cameron County in southern Texas, the city of Brownsville lies 28 miles away from South Padre Island and about 27 miles from Harlingen.
