Metal Building in Platte, South Dakota

Metal Building Outlet supplied this steel building near Platte, South Dakota.  It is about 150 miles from Sioux Falls and 70 miles from Mitchell this metal building is in the heart of Charles Mix County.  This particular metal building is one of our personal favorites it was built as a play area for the owner’s children.

The Nucor steel building is an excellent example of the versatility and durability that metal buildings are best known for.  Since the building is on the owner’s personal property, he selected evergreen external walls and a galvalume roof for aesthetic reasons. The finished final dimensions of the building are 100’x100’x20’ with a variety of different door and window sizes.  There are four external doors on the building – two of them are 3’x7’ walkdoors and the remaining two are overhead doors sized at 14’x14’ and 20’x20’.  Adding to the charm and beauty of this building are twenty-four windows.  Of the windows, eight of them are 7’x6’ and the remaining 16 are 3’x6’ in size allowing plenty of natural light to flood the building.

The interior of this metal building houses a swimming pool and a basketball court.  Since the owner planned on using his building year-round he selected a popular insulation package to make the metal building energy efficient and comfortable.  The walls are insulated with R-13 insulation and the roof (which has a 1:12 pitch) is insulated with a R-19 insulation.
