Metal Building Outlet secured this prefabricated metal shop building on behalf of a customer in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in September of 2019.

Insulated to maximize energy efficiency and comfort given Steamboat Springs’ mountainous location, the building boasts durable, structurally sound steel construction and stands 100’x220’x16’ in size. High overhead clearance makes it well-suited for automotive, manufacturing or storage use, while (4) 14’x14’ framed openings enclosing (4) 14’x14’ overhead doors make it easily accessible for large vehicles, machinery or equipment.

Protecting the interior of the steel shop is a hardwearing, damage-resistant Galvalume roof with a 3:12 roof pitch, and installed within that roof is a layer of R-10 fiberglass insulation. Because of the Steamboat Springs area’s propensity for heavy snowfall and sometimes-extreme climate conditions, a high, 120-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating serve as other important project elements.

Part of the Yampa Valley in northern Colorado, Steamboat Springs is a popular ski destination that sits within Routt County. The area sits about 165 miles outside Boulder, Colorado, and about 125 miles outside Laramie, Wyoming.

Designed for Wisconsin’s variable, sometimes harsh climate, the building, which functions as a shop, offers unmatched structural integrity, and once raised, it stands an expansive 80’x200’x20’ in size. Ash gray in color, it has a complementing Fern Green roof with a 1:12 pitch that enhances the aesthetic appeal of the property while blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

Throughout the steel shop are (4) framed openings that make for easy accessibility, and these include (2) 20’x16’ overhead door openings and (2) 3070 openings enclosing (2) 3070 walk doors. Other supplemental accommodations made due to climate considerations and building code requirements include a 90-mph wind speed rating and a high, 50-pound snow load.

Metal Building Outlet was proud to supply this prefabricated metal shop building for a customer in Maui, Hawaii, in August of 2019.

Rugged and heavy duty, the building features high-end steel construction and holds its own when faced with salt, sand, strong winds and other common Hawaii construction hazards. The shop stands 60’x125’x20’ in size once erect, and it features high overhead clearance, improving versatility, and a hardwearing Galvalume metal roof with a 1:12 pitch overhead.

It features (19) framed openings throughout, and these include (2) 3’4”x7’2” openings, (12) 4’x4’ window openings and (5) wind-rated roll-up doors that make for easy accessibility. A 130-mph wind speed rating serves as a supplemental feature added in compliance with local building codes and in consideration of the strong winds that sometimes come through Maui and the surrounding island landscape.
