Metal Building in Firth, Idaho

Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Firth, Idaho, in September of 2017.

Built to last the long haul and insulated to maximize energy efficiency, the building boasts a bold, rustic red exterior and now serves as a shop. Overhead lies a rugged, burnished slate-colored metal roof with a 3:12 pitch, and the building itself is comprised of top-quality steel components and stands 40’x80’x16’ in size.

To ensure year-round comfort for building users, the shop also boasts an insulation package. In its roof, it has high-performance, R-19 insulation, while R-13 insulation sits within its walls. The insulation also helps muffle noise while keeping energy bills manageable for building owners. Additional attributes include (10) framed openings varying in size, among them (1) 12’x14’ opening, (1) 10’x10’ opening, (2) 3070 openings and (6) 4040 windows that let natural sunlight inside.

A snow load of 40 pounds and a wind speed rating of 115 mph serve as additional features added with respect for the distinct seasonal differences and precipitation patterns common in and around the Firth area. A small, sparsely populated city in southeastern Idaho’s Bingham County, Firth lies along the eastern edge of the Snake River. The city sits about 50 miles outside Aberdeen and roughly 1.5 miles outside Basalt.
