Light stone in color, the durable and low-maintenance Louisiana metal building is now used as a shop, and boasts a finished size of 60’x100’x16’. Covered by a Galvalume roof with a 1:12 roof pitch, the building contains (6) framed openings. These include (2) 12’x14’ openings, (3) 3070 walk doors and (1) 6070 door. In an effort to maximize durability regardless of the weather patterns and occasionally strong storm and hurricane activity of the Walker area, the building was constructed with a particularly high wind speed of 130 mph.

Crafted from top-of-the-line steel components, the attractive and energy-efficient metal building boasts a finished size of 40’x80’x16’. Covering it and protecting the interior is a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 1:12 pitch, and inside the building are a total of (8) framed openings varying in terms of size and purpose. Among them are (2) 12’x14’ openings, (5) 4’x3’ openings and (1) 3070 opening housing (1) 3070 walk door designed for easy building user access. Also included in this project are 4” of Wainscot paneling and gutters and downspouts to help divert water off the roof and away from the building.

To reduce the building’s energy bills while enhancing interior comfort and minimizing outside noise, R-19 metal building insulation is installed in the roof, while R-13 insulation can be found within the walls. A wind speed rating of 115 mph and a snow load of 30 lbs. serve as additional project features and were included with respect for the climate and weather patterns typically seen in the area. Located within southwestern Iowa’s Pottawattamie County, the city of Crescent lies about 126 miles from Des Moines and about 10 miles outside Council Bluffs.

Now used as a shop by Calumet Lubricants, a hydrocarbon product manufacturer, the metal building is 51’x55.2’x16’ in size and is crafted from rugged components from Nucor Building Systems. It boasts light stone-colored paint and a corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch.

Additional building features include (3) framed openings, among them (2) 14’x14’ roll-up coil doors and (1) heavy-duty 20-gauge steel walk door for convenient user access. To help keep the interior warm in the winter and cool in the summer, R-19 insulation is included in the roof, while R-13 insulation adorns the walls.

Cotton Valley sees considerable rainfall throughout the year and very little, if any, snowfall. With the region’s typical weather patterns in mind, the building was designed with a wind speed of 90 mph and a ground snow load of 5 lbs. at the time of construction.

Cotton Valley is a part of Webster Parish in northern Louisiana, not far from the Arkansas border. It sits about 20 miles northwest of Minden and about 43.3 miles northeast of Shreveport.

This Nucor metal building was purchased in March, 2013 as a garage for a business. This 40’x70’x12’ building sports a roof with a pitch of 3:12.
