Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in December of 2014.
Both low maintenance and exceedingly durable, the Hawaii metal building features eye-catching light stone-colored paint and a matching roof with a 1:12 roof pitch. Now used as a shop by the owner, the Garco-brand building stands 30’x50’x14’, and features (3) framed openings. These include (2) 12’x12’ roll-coil doors and (1) 3’x7’ commercial-grade walk door.
Kailua-Kona enjoys a tropical semi-arid climate characterized by hot, humid summers and little precipitation, and with this in mind, the pre-engineered metal building was constructed with a wind speed of 105 mph to ensure maximum durability.
Kailua-Kona is a census-designated place located within Hawaii County on the Big Island of Hawaii. It sits about 77 miles from Hilo and 39 miles outside Waimea.

Metal Building Outlet provided this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Kapaau, Hawaii, in early April, 2016.
Now operating as a shop, the metal building boasts an expandable end wall, rigid-frame columns and rafters and a finished size of 40’x80’x14’. It is crafted from premium-grade steel components, and its corrosion-resistant roof overhead has a 2:12 pitch and is made of top-quality Galvalume metal. Inside the building are (15) framed openings that vary broadly in terms of size and function. Included are (3) 12’x12’ openings with (3) 12’x12’ commercial overhead sectional doors, (1) 3070 opening enclosing (1) 3070 20-guage commercial steel walk door, (3) 5030 access doors and (8) 3’x10’8” light-transmitting translucent skylight panels. With respect for the tropical climate of Kapaau and the surrounding area, a wind speed rating of 120 mph serves as an additional project feature.
A census-designated place set within Hawaii County on Hawaii’s Big Island, Kapaau is situated about 23 miles from Waimea and about 20 miles from Kawaihae.

Prefabricated Metal Shop Building in Maui, Hawaii
Metal Building Outlet was proud to supply this prefabricated metal shop building for a customer in Maui, Hawaii, in August of 2019.
Rugged and heavy duty, the building features high-end steel construction and holds its own when faced with salt, sand, strong winds and other common Hawaii construction hazards. The shop stands 60’x125’x20’ in size once erect, and it features high overhead clearance, improving versatility, and a hardwearing Galvalume metal roof with a 1:12 pitch overhead.
It features (19) framed openings throughout, and these include (2) 3’4”x7’2” openings, (12) 4’x4’ window openings and (5) wind-rated roll-up doors that make for easy accessibility. A 130-mph wind speed rating serves as a supplemental feature added in compliance with local building codes and in consideration of the strong winds that sometimes come through Maui and the surrounding island landscape.
The island of Maui is the second-largest island in the Hawaiian Islands and is part of Maui County. Other islands within Maui County include Moloka’I, Lana’I and Kaho’olawe, the last of which is unpopulated.
