Metal Building in Byers, Colorado

Metal Building Outlet sourced this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Byers, Colorado, in late September of 2017.

Durable and spacious, thanks to a clear-span design and a lack of interior obstructions, the building now serves as an airplane hangar. Crafted from premium-grade steel components, the energy-efficient hangar offers a finished size of 70’x60’x18’, while a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 2:12 pitch sits overhead.

To ensure interior comfort and minimal energy bills, the hangar features an insulation package. It has R-13 insulation installed within its roof and walls, which also enhances sound control. The hangar also features (10) framed openings varying in terms of size and purpose, and these include (1) 62’x16’6” opening, (2) 3070 openings, (6) 4030 windows and (1) 14’x14’ framed opening.

Because the Byers area is prone to variable wind patterns and sometimes-heavy wintertime snowfall, a 30-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating serve as additional hangar characteristics. A census-designated area that falls within north-central Colorado’s Arapahoe County, Byers lies about 27 miles from Aurora and about 49 miles outside Centennial.
