Steel Building in Honea Path, South Carolina

Metal Building Outlet supplied this steel building in Honea Path, South Carolina in December, 2013.  The owner of this building purchased two buildings for his personal property at that time.  One is used as a horse stall and this one is used as his personal residence.  This home features solar panels and the owner lives off the grid, using solar energy and well water – less than an hour’s travel to Greenville and Spartanburg in northwest South Carolina.

This Nucor metal building features many doors and windows and has a finished size of 50’x75’x12’.  The roof for this building has a 1.6:12 pitch.  There are (3) 3’x7’ walkdoors, (2) 9’x8’ overhead doors, and (1)10’x10’ overhead door which were purchased for this house.  There are (5) 4.5’x3’, (1) 3’x3’ and (1) 9’x5’2” windows to flood the interiors of the home with natural light.

Since the Anderson and Abbeville area is known for high winds, this house is rated for winds up to 115 MPH.  The roof snow load is 7.5 PSF. To keep this building comfortable in different weather, the walls and roof are insulated with high quality single layer 6” fiberglass insulation panels with an R-19 rating.
