Insulated Steel Building in Hesston, Kansas

Metal Building Outlet supplied this pre-engineered steel building for a buyer in Hesston, Kansas.

Light stone in color, the building features Nucor Building Systems components, and is topped with a Galvalume roof with a 2:12 roof pitch. Now used as a shop by Hesston Machine and Welding, Inc., a steel fabrication and manufacturing plant, the building stands 80’x80’x16’, and has (1) framed opening, which is 14’x14’ in size and covered with a 3070 walk door.

Hesston’s typical climate includes hot, humid summers and cool, relatively mild winters with some seasonal snowfall. In an effort to keep energy costs low and ensure building users stay comfortable regardless of season, the building was constructed with R-19 insulation in the roof and R-13 insulation in the walls. It was also designed with a wind speed of 90 mph and a ground snow load of 14 lbs.

The City of Hesston is located within Harvey County, in central Kansas. It lies about 79 miles from Emporia and 44 miles outside Wichita.

Metal Building in Decatur, Illinois

Metal Building Outlet provided this premanufactured metal building for a buyer in Decatur, Illinois, in April of 2018.

Now used for manufacturing purposes, the building boasts top-quality steel construction, resulting in uncompromised durability and strength. The manufacturing facility stands 50’x80’x22’ in size once erect, and it offers a clear-span design that provides plenty of room for production. Overhead, a Koko Brown-colored roof with a 1:12 pitch delivers protection from the Midwestern elements, while (2) framed openings serve as additional features. Included are (1) 16’x16’ opening and (1) 3’4”x7’2” opening.

Additional accommodations include a 20-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating; additions made to enhance overall durability given the distinct seasonal weather patterns common in and around Decatur. The largest city in central Illinois’ Macon County, Decatur sits along the Sangamon River and the shores of Lake Decatur. The city lies roughly 180 miles south of Chicago and about 40 miles east of the city of Springfield.
