Prefabricated Metal Building in Crescent, Iowa

Metal Building Outlet supplied this prefabricated steel building for a customer in Crescent, Iowa, in April of 2016.

Crafted from top-of-the-line steel components, the attractive and energy-efficient metal building boasts a finished size of 40’x80’x16’. Covering it and protecting the interior is a hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 1:12 pitch, and inside the building are a total of (8) framed openings varying in terms of size and purpose. Among them are (2) 12’x14’ openings, (5) 4’x3’ openings and (1) 3070 opening housing (1) 3070 walk door designed for easy building user access. Also included in this project are 4” of Wainscot paneling and gutters and downspouts to help divert water off the roof and away from the building.

To reduce the building’s energy bills while enhancing interior comfort and minimizing outside noise, R-19 metal building insulation is installed in the roof, while R-13 insulation can be found within the walls. A wind speed rating of 115 mph and a snow load of 30 lbs. serve as additional project features and were included with respect for the climate and weather patterns typically seen in the area. Located within southwestern Iowa’s Pottawattamie County, the city of Crescent lies about 126 miles from Des Moines and about 10 miles outside Council Bluffs.

Highly energy efficient and impressively low maintenance, the building boasts a finished size of 68’x112’x22’. Crafted from premium-quality steel components, the structure is protected from overhead by a rugged, corrosion-resistant Galvalume metal roof with a 2:12 pitch.

Additional project features include (14) framed openings varying in size, among them (2) 16’x18’ openings, (2) 14’x18’ openings, (5) 3070 openings intended for walk doors and (5) 10’x14’ framed openings. To reduce energy bills, the structure features R-19 insulation in its roof and walls, which also improves user comfort throughout the year while helping minimize outside noise. A snow load of 35 lbs. and a wind speed rating of 115 mph serve as additional attributes; additions made with respect for the distinct seasonal weather patterns seen throughout Sioux Center and the surrounding region.

Once raised, the steel shop building stands 30’x40’x16’ in size, and notable features include a wide clear span that takes full advantage of usable square footage and high overhead clearance that makes it suitable for a broad range of different uses.

Polar White in color, the metal workshop has a rugged, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 4:12 pitch overhead, and within that roof is a layer of R-10 insulation that improves thermal performance and helps keep shop users comfortable, regardless of outside temperatures. Other project attributes include (2) framed openings; (1) 12’x14’ overhead opening enclosing (1) 12’x14’ overhead door and (1) 3070 walk door opening enclosing (1) 3070 walk door.

The shop also has a snow load of 10 pounds and a wind speed rating of 110 mph; additions made in adherence to local building code requirements. Located in Northern California’s Tehama County, the city of Corning sits about 19 miles south of Red Bluff and about 100 miles north of Sacramento, California’s state capital.

Versatile and insulated to optimize energy efficiency, the building features premium-quality steel composition and stands 40’x60’x16’ in size. Now used for a variety of purposes, it features a broad, space-maximizing clear-span and high overhead clearance, while a rugged, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch sits overhead, offering optimal protection from the elements.

Key features and customizations include (6) framed openings, among them (2) 14’x14’ overhead openings and (4) 4030 window openings that allow natural sunlight to enter the space. An insulation package comprised of R-19 roof insulation and R-13 wall insulation serves as another important customization, and it makes the metal building better-suited for year-round use while lowering energy expenses associated with the structure.

Other accommodations added in adherence to local building codes include a high, 50-pound snow load and a 115-mph wind speed rating. Part of the Elko Micropolitan Statistical Area, Elko falls within northeastern Nevada’s Elko County. The community lies about 6 miles southeast of the city of Elko and just west of Lamoille.
